Accompanying Pleasurecraft Proposal Form
COMMERCIAL USE:
Our Pleasurecraft Policy will cover
commercial vessels provided that they are used only for recreational
purposes (eg. Sail & Dive Charters, Day Tours). Cover will not be
provided for any activities which breach statutory rules or
regulations governing the use of the vessel.
In respect of Dive Charters, it
should be noted that liability cover is not provided for death or
bodily injury incurred during the actual dive activities.
SUMS INSURED: Vessel
Cover
This section of our Policy covers the
vessel for accidental or malicious damage or theft. If a claim is
admissible under the Policy, we will also pay salvage charges and/or
government charges incurred in preventing or minimising pollution
resulting from the accident.
The sum insured shown for the Vessel
Cover represents the maximum that we will pay, including salvage and
other charges, in event of a claim. It should represent the overall
replacement value of the vessel including all components and may be
increased by up to 20% of the vessel value to allow for salvage and
other charges.
If you wish to give a breakdown of
the vessel value by component you may do so but if a sum is stated
this will be the maximum amount that we will pay for that component
in event of a claim.
Third Party Liability
This section covers your legal
liability to third parties, including passengers, for bodily injury
or property damage. It does not cover liability to employees (i.e.
paid skipper and crew).
The sum insured should be set
according to your own requirements. However, you should note that
the sum insured represents the maximum amount payable in the event
of any one accident and is not an amount per person.
Death & Disability Benefit
This is a no-liability cover which
provides a Benefit for skipper, crew and passengers if they have an
accident aboard the vessel which results in their death or total
permanent disablement.
You should set the sum insured
according to your own requirements. However, please note that the
maximum coverage we offer is Baht 250,000 / US$ 7,000 for any one
person and Baht 3,000,000 / US$ 84,000 in total during any one
policy period.
Personal Effects
This provides cover for accidental
loss of or damage to personal effects belonging to the owner, their
family or private guests. Cover is not provided for personal effects
of commercial passengers or employees.
The insurance is intended to cover
general items, such as clothing, footwear, spectacles, etc. It does
not cover cash, jewellery, computer items, antiques or other
valuables.
Compulsory Passenger Insurance
It is a government requirement that
commercial vessels carry a minimum amount of insurance covering
passengers in event of an accident. The current limits are Baht
50,000 in respect of death, dismemberment, loss of sight or
permanent disability and Baht 10,000 in respect of medical
expenses. This section of our Policy will provide coverage to meet
these statutory requirements.
Please note that we will not provide
statutory cover unless the vessel is insured with QBE.
OTHER:
QBE may require a Survey Report or
other relevant documentation before confirming final terms for
insurance. If such documentation is required this should be noted in
our Quotation under the heading "Conditions". The cost of providing
any such documentation will fall to the Proposer/Insured.
QBE allow a No Claims Discount on
most pleasurecraft policies. If you wish No Claims Discount from
your current insurer to be taken into account we will need you to
provide written confirmation from your current insurer of the
numbers of consecutive years you have been insured without claim.
Discounts will also be granted for
Lay-Up periods and for Fleets where more than one vessel is insured
under the same policy.
